Mia St. John made headlines about the importance of mental health following the suicide of her son Julian and then the sudden loss of the beloved father of her children, Emmy-winning “Young & The Restless” star Kristoff St. John.
Her son, Julian, who she shared with former husband Kristoff St. John, the late star of The Young and the Restless, developed paranoid schizophrenia when he turned 18.

Outside the ring, she was battling a lifetime of demons while struggling to keep her family together. Still always the fighter, Mia gets up once again and shows the world how to face another day with dignity and determination to live the best life possible.
Mia started the Mia St John Foundation, which empowers individuals suffering from mental illness, homelessness, addiction, and poverty by providing programs to better educate, inform, and improve physical and mental health.
Mia made her pro-debut in boxing in 1997 after signing a lucrative contract with world-famous promoter Don King and accumulated an unheard-of boxing record of nearly 70 pro fights and five world and international titles. Mia joined forces with Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano and Metta World Peace (Laker Star Ron Artest) on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. to reintroduce the Mental Health in Schools Act and create awareness and support for mental health initiatives. She spoke at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and presented the “WBC Goodwill Ambassador” Award from The World Boxing Council.
