Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is Magic Mike’s Last Dance, a fun installment in the series that made its way to theaters instead of streaming due to strong test screenings and now we can see why. Channing Tatum returns as the boy toy that’s surprisingly lovable now bartending events and gets a referral of his old ways to a stressed out and lonely divorcee, Salma Hayek, and gets talked into performing one last dance when he said he was done with it and it sets a spark that finds him in a totally foreign situation – literally – in England. Now Mike has to direct a show at a prestigious theater in England that will surprise everyone by having dancers like him and a whole slew of new talent and surprise, surprise – he finds his fire and passion again. Featuring an array of jaw-dropping dance moves that will equally make you appreciate the art but also realize your own lack of shape, this fun crowd pleaser has a little something for everyone but at its core, a nice – even if predictable love story about second chances and finding your passion. Is it a little silly and not quite at the height of its run? Sure. Is it a lot of fun and presented as advertised? Absolutely. Go see it with a rowdy crowd in the theater for the full effect. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK and AMFM Magazine
