Screenwriters Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan tell Carla Sanchez Taylor (RiPple PudDle) about the writing of the film CHAPPAQUIDDICK. They wanted to make sure they told Ted Kennedy’s perspective on the accident that claimed the life of Mary Jo Kopechne after his car plunged off a bridge, but their research revealed many voices and perspectives.
Mary Jo Kopechne was always portrayed in the press as a floozy, but they learned she was actually a very talented campaign worker, and the real victim who’s life was cut tragically short. The audience is allowed to draw their own conclusions after Allen and Logan present the facts in this riveting drama based on a true story.
