Movie Minute by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this week is DC League of Super-Pets, a cute animated action flick that’s headlined by Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart that play two lovable dogs that just want to want to be accepted, with Johnson’s Krypto wanting to be loved by his master, Superman, and Hart’s Ace wanting a home and owner. With an all-star cast that includes John Krasinski as Superman, Keanu Reeves as Batman, Olivia Wilde as Wonder Woman, and Kate McKinnon and Marc Maron as our bad guys, we find our little four-legged heroes working hard with our favorite DC superheroes to save the world. It’s a fun take on a familiar theme and familiar characters and while it’s not perfect, a solid kids movie about teamwork, friendship, and trying to understand our differences, which is always welcome. It almost seemed like something that would come straight to streaming minus the A-list names and while it may not be as appealing as Minions or Lightyear, it’s another good outing for the family in the home stretch of summer.
