Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute brought to you by KYO online pharmacy. In theaters this weekend is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year, Gladiator II. It only took 24 years to get a sequel, but director Ridley Scott returned to the ring for a big glorious bout – of course without Russell Crowe, who perished in the first one but we now have Paul Mescal, a true new star and the mighty Denzel Washington in a truly fine performance along with Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn and the only returning cast member, Connie Nielsen. It follows Lucius, a man with a secret (that you can probably guess but we won’t spoil it here), who is forced to fight in the colosseum and although misplaced, seems to have it in his blood – all the while being out for blood to avenge those taken from him and overthrow the tyrannical new Roman leaders. It’s quite epic, engaging, and worth a trip to the theater. Minus some bizarre primate and shark additions in the ring that take you out a bit, it really is a worthy sequel that will keep you engaged and into the thrill of it all. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK, AMFM Magazine, and RECRD.
