Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute brought to you by KYO online pharmacy. In theaters now for the Thanksgiving holiday is Moana 2, the big one for the kiddos this season and it’s a serviceable sequel that’s respectful of its subjects, shows great love for the ocean and environment, and has all of the expected elements of a big Disney release. The Rock returns as does Auli’i Cravalho but unfortunately, we don’t get Lin-Manuel Miranda’s magic touch with the music. While the songs aren’t bad, they’re just not quite as magical. Of course 8 years between films sees us all in different ways and any kids that grew up on the first one are now older but the movie kind of grew up with the times. The animation is stunning, Cravalho’s voice is even stronger, and there is a more mature theme here – and the message is solid. Don’t expect a superior sequel here but do expect a good time and something the kids will really enjoy. That’s it for this week.
