Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. The most anticipated movie this week actually isn’t in theaters, but on Hulu and it’s Prey, the prequel to Predator. Taking place in 1719 way before Arnold Scwarzenegger uttered the famous line, “If it bleeds, we can kill it” and even longer before the predator met the aliens, one lone ugly creature came to earth and found a true challenger in the Comanches, who witness a ship so Naru, our hero, has prepared to hunt even without the belief and support of her family so when the super advanced predator lands and starts taking members of the tribe and other hunters out, she has to try to save the day in a completely unfair fight. Sound familiar? Dan Trachtenberg, director of 10 Cloverfield Lane as well as episodes of The Boys and Black Mirror, brings the franchise a fresh start that could be the reboot it needed. And hey, if nothing else, you get to see the predator fight a bear. That’s it for this week. Join me next week and every week for another Movie Minute right here on 97.5 KLAK and AMFM Magazine.
