Interview by Paul Salfen
How is cognitive yoga different from the mat yoga most of us know and love? It is more focused on breathing and awareness, and movement is minimal. And though it may be new to us, its origins can be found in the ancient yogic wisdom and healing sciences of India.
In “Yoga for Immortals” classes, Dr. Ishan helps students find connection to themselves and others through exercises that go far beyond the physical, focusing on awareness, breathing, building mental resilience and releasing fears and negativity. He teaches individuals, groups, and is sought after by major institutions like M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Mayo Clinic, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
