This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. On Prime this weekend is Role Play, a new spy flick starring Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo about a married couple and one of them has a big secret – she’s a spy and their life gets turned upside down when all is revealed. Sound familiar? Yes, well, it’s not the most original idea but the execution is pretty fun. When said couple decides to do a little role playing to spice things up, the husband quickly realizes how good of an actress – and how ruthless of a killer his wife is when their worlds collide at a hotel bar and he has to decide how he feels not realizing just how much danger he’s in. It’s got a little commentary on trust and deception in a relationship while still being funny in places and interesting enough action-wise. It’s a decent mix from director Thomas Vincent, who shot on location in Berlin and has two great leads but also enough working against it. Critics will savage it but at-home audiences may find it a nice – if not too standout – free streaming watch during an otherwise slow release week. That’s it for this week.
