Movie Minute Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. In theaters this weekend is The Fall Guy, an absolutely fun and wildly entertaining take on the classic TV show starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt that’s sure to be a huge hit. Director David Leitch gives us a glaring reason why there should have an Oscar for stunts. Of course, Leitch himself was a stuntman and went on to direct Bullet Train and Hobbs & Shaw and produce John Wick, so of course this has some of the most amazing stunts in recent memory and the story revolves around a stuntman and his love for the director of a film that draws him back into the business after a terrible on-set accident. The chemistry between Gosling and Blunt is great and they both shine as does the supporting cast and, of course, the stuntmen, who get the entire end credits to showcase what went into this. Besides all that, it’s cleverly written, wickedly funny, and has some in jokes that those in the business will find even funnier. Go see it on the biggest screen possible and marvel in the creation of a stuntariffic modern classic. That’s it for this week.
