Review by Paul Salfen
This is Paul Salfen with your KLAK Movie Minute. Out now is Unsung Hero, the inspirational true story of the Smallbone family, of which comes Joel and Luke Smallbone of the popular Christian band For King + Country and their sister Rebecca St James, who came from Australia with nothing and made it in America and beyond despite the odds and more than their fair share of challenges. It’s a moving faith-based story that its target audience will love and although critics are often harder on these types of films which are sometimes due to quality issues, this is not that film. It’s not only quality in its delivery and message, but the people behind it. You have to applaud those that struggle and sacrifice to make it – and do it with grace and remain good people through it all, putting family first. That in itself is a good lesson to keep in mind that makes it worth the watch but on top of that, the story is engaging, heartfelt, and quite impressive. Whether or not you’re a fan of the band or a Christian, the film stands on its own. That’s it for this week.
